Description

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Maintains all bakery equipment, buildings and grounds; ensures safe and efficient operations of bakery equipment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Performs preventive maintenance, repairs and installation of bakery equipment, buildings and grounds; ensures safe and efficient operations of bakery equipment.

2. Makes necessary adjustments to bakery equipment during production; ensures high production and product quality levels.

3. Performs regular equipment, building and ground inspections; communicates potential problems and safety issues to immediate supervisor.

4. Performs daily and shift work assignments in a timely and efficient manner; documents activities through daily shift reports.

5. Maintains a safe and clean work environment; ensures parts and tools are in good operating order and properly stored and performs general housekeeping of all maintenance areas.

6. Performs other job related duties as may be assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 75lbs, pushing, pulling and moving objects weighing up to 100lbs plus using carts or dollies. Repetitive motion bending, reaching, stooping, squatting and sitting. Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders.

KNOWLEDGE

Extensive knowledge of 3 or more of the following skills: electrical, refrigeration, programming of programmable logistic controllers (PLC) and mechanical.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); training in the New Bakery safety programs and their implementation and Allen Bradley programming (PLC) required; 3 or more years of related general maintenance/repair work supplemented by training obtained through seminars, correspondence courses and New Bakery sponsored programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Irregular hours or periodic overtime required. Occasional exposure to extreme weather situations. Must be able to work in an area that contains dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, cold, noise levels higher than normal and heights. Protective equipment is provided
