I. Objective of the Position:

 

Performs Human Relations Generalist activities including employment/recruitment/onboarding, training, employee/labor relations, recognition programs, sustainability, incident investigations, benefits administration, policies/procedures and support safety initiatives.

 

ll. Duties and Responsibilities:

•Employment Staffing/Talent Selection: Lead recruiting activities to guide the successful attraction and pipelining talent for BQSR for exempt, non-exempt and hourly level positions including sourcing, interviewing, evaluating candidates for approved open positions. Responsible for resume/application/candidate records retention and reporting.

•On boarding, conducts new hire orientation, coordinates involvement of other departments in the orientation process. Sets up new hire in necessary systems for payroll and benefits. Maintain, deliver and continuously improve an efficient on boarding program for new hires.

Policy Management: including administering/interpreting company policies and representing the organization (and/or assisting the HR Manager) in personnel and employment law compliance related matters, investigations and hearings.

• Conducts investigations at the direction of the Sr. Human Relations Manager

Leads engagement programs to maximize participation, gather results, create action plans, and follow up.

Leads Good Neighbor and sustainability programs.

•Compiles and maintains required reports for headcount, safety, turnover, tracking training, attendance tracking, KPI’s and other reports needed.

Respond to Unemployment claims, maintains updated Employee lists and seniority lists in compliance with Union labor contract.

•Employee Programs: Leads development and execution of designated employee events, incentives and recognition programs. Manages and administers employee referral bonus and attendance bonus programs if applicable.

•Ensures compliance with posting of all State/Federal employment laws. Manages digital display and keeps content fresh and updated.

•Assist/support and perform all HR activities/duties as needed.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources/HR Management or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work.

 

IV: Experience/Knowledge/Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources role preferably in the food industry or manufacturing environment.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification is a plus.
  • Labor Relations experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of computers, including HRIS systems and office applications
  • Willingness and flexible to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and train employees within a team oriented environment
  • Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision - position requires high energy and motivation and a strong desire to drive positive change
  • Demonstrate the ability to be coachable and trainable for cross-training/development within the HR function in preparation of future progression.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish is preferred
  • Good communications skills, hardworking, dependable, safety conscious and bilingual
  • Knowledgeable of Human Resources practices/processes and up to date on employment laws.
